ANGUS,THONGS, AND PERFECT SNOGGING-movie review by jazmine b.

“It’s boy stalking time!!”  Is one of many sayings from the movie Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging that caught my attention and that I really liked.  The reason behind this saying is that the main character, Georgia Nicolson, and her friends saw two cute boys walking past them during school. A teen comedy about a girl named Georgia, who other teen girls can probably relate to really likes the new guy who goes to her school. She tries everything to get this guy, from finding out where he works to having her cat runaway so she can spend time with him.

It is directed by Gurinder Chadha. The reason I like this movie is because it is funny and it taught me some things. It taught me things by telling and showing me that you don’t need to go and change for a guy he should just like you the way you are.  And it is funny because Georgia and her friends think girls who wear thongs lived or should live in Valgori. Georgia is struggling from keeping her best friend, trying to get the “sex-god” as her boyfriend and also to throw the best birthday party ever. Georgia says,” If you haven’t noticed I am a woman now. I wear a bra!” because she is trying to convince her parents that she is old enough for a party.

Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging, it might be a funny name and the meaning behind the name is, Angus is Georgia’s cats name, thongs because they think thongs are nasty, and  perfect snogging means they want to find that one special kiss/guy. The movie is also based on the book Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison and It’s OK, I’m Wearing Really Big Knickers.

I recommend this movie for girls from the ages 12-16, but it actually appeals to every age of women and also that doesn’t mean guys won’t like the movie either. Anyone who is fourteen or has been fourteen can relate to all the ups and downs that happen in this movie. Even though I haven’t read the book after seeing this movie about two years ago, I really loved the movie and still looking for the book.
